PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Brass Woven Mesh Combining Warm Appearance and Controlled Openings

Brass woven wire mesh combines a warm golden appearance with accurately repeated openings formed by interlaced copper-zinc alloy wires. The brass composition, mesh count, wire diameter, clear aperture and plain or twill weave should be defined as a complete specification. Finished roll or panel dimensions, visible edges and the required support frame also influence the appearance and handling of the installed mesh.

Typical applications include decorative inserts, cabinet and ventilation screens, general sieving and selected filtration duties where the alloy is compatible with the process. Brass is not automatically interchangeable with pure copper or stainless steel, and different copper-zinc compositions can respond differently to forming and exposure. Common specifications are regularly stocked, while non-standard alloys, openings, widths and cut panels can be produced to order.

MATERIAL SELECTION

Why Specify Brass Woven Wire Mesh?

Key Advantages

The woven texture and warm tone offer a distinct alternative to silver-colored screens. Controlled openings allow a screening requirement to be expressed as a specific wire-and-aperture combination.

Considerations

Brass is not a universal replacement for stainless steel or pure copper. Review the medium, electrical requirements and alloy susceptibility before specifying demanding service.

Best-fit Uses

Decorative inserts and general sieving or screening where alloy compatibility is established. Conductive applications require the actual electrical and assembly criteria to be defined.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Specifications & Custom Range

Final dimensions and compatible combinations are confirmed against the approved drawing or mesh specification before production.

Alloy Composition

Reference copper-zinc compositions: 65/35 and 80/20. Confirm the required designation and composition on the order.

Mesh Reference

Reference mesh range: 6–200 mesh. This does not mean every wire size and width is available at every mesh count.

Wire & Aperture

Specify both wire diameter and clear opening, plus any tolerance or screening acceptance requirement.

Weave & Format

Confirm plain or twill construction, roll or panel dimensions and edge detail.

Surface Condition

Agree cleanliness, natural appearance and any finish-related requirements before packing.

Procurement

Common specifications are regularly stocked, while non-standard sizes, materials and finishes can be produced to order. Final quantities and delivery schedules are confirmed with the quotation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Brass Woven Wire Mesh FAQ

Material, specification and commercial details are confirmed for the actual project.

How is brass mesh different from copper mesh?

Brass is a copper-zinc alloy, so its properties and appearance differ from pure copper. Specify the task before choosing between them.

Does 100 mesh define the opening completely?

No. Wire diameter is also required; the same mesh count can have different clear openings.

Can brass mesh replace a stainless filter screen?

Only after the process medium, temperature, mechanical duty and required cleanliness have been reviewed.

Is brass mesh suitable for a visible cabinet insert?

It can be considered when mesh appearance, support, edge retention and acceptable color change are agreed.

Are all brass grades equivalent for wet service?

No. Composition and environment affect suitability, so the alloy must be selected for the actual conditions.
